In Video Editions the narrator reads the book while the content, figures, code listings, diagrams, and text appear on the screen. Like an audiobook that you can also watch as a video.
Build stylish, slick, and speedy-to-load user interfaces in React without writing custom classes. React Hooks are a new category of functions that help you to manage state, lifecycle, and side effects within functional components. React Hooks in Action teaches you to use pre-built hooks like useState, useReducer and useEffect to build your own hooks. Your code will be more reusable, require less boilerplate, and you'll instantly be a more effective React developer.
About the Technology
Get started with React Hooks and you'll soon have code that's better organized and easier to maintain. React Hooks are targeted JavaScript functions that let you reuse and share functionality across components. Use them to split components into smaller functions, manage state and side effects, and access React features without classes-all without having to rearrange your component hierarchy.
About the Book
React Hooks in Action teaches you to write fast and reusable React components using Hooks. You'll start by learning to create component code with Hooks. Next, you'll implement a resource booking application that demonstrates managing local state, application state, and side effects like fetching data. Code samples and illustrations make learning Hooks easy.
What's Inside
Build function components that access React features
Manage local, shared, and application state
Explore built-in, custom, and third-party hooks
Load, update, and cache data with React Query
Improve page and data loading with code-splitting and React Suspense

It is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical foundations underpinning the complex employment landscape in the state. While the course aims to equip students with practical insights into regulatory compliance and human resource management, it prioritizes a deeper understanding of the principles and standards essential for navigating California's distinct legal environment.Throughout the curriculum, students will engage with the intricacies of the California Labor Code, exploring how it differs from federal employment laws and how these differences impact organizational policies. A thorough examination of wage and hour regulations highlights key areas such as overtime rules, meal breaks, and timekeeping protocols. Students will develop a nuanced appreciation for how compliance with these rules contributes to both legal stability and employee satisfaction. This section lays the groundwork for understanding the critical role of compensation strategies, worker classifications, and fair employment practices within the framework of California's unique legislative landscape. The course also addresses the essential elements of employee recruitment, onboarding, and workplace conduct, with a focus on aligning organizational practices with state-specific requirements. From pre-employment checks to the complexities of employment-at-will policies, students will learn how to apply compliant hiring practices while fostering an inclusive work environment. The onboarding modules introduce key principles for building effective employee agreements and training programs that support both compliance and organizational culture. In addition, this course delves into the legal mandates surrounding workplace safety and employee benefits. Students will gain insight into California's Occupational Safety and Health regulations, as well as the Family Rights Act and other leave laws. These modules emphasize the importance of balancing employee well-being with operational demands, fostering a deeper understanding of how HR professionals can integrate compliance strategies with business goals. The exploration of workers' compensation programs adds further dimension, preparing students to manage claims and mitigate risks effectively.Central to the learning experience is the study of employee relations and the development of workplace policies. Students will explore how organizations can create policies that promote harmony, manage disciplinary actions, and protect whistleblower rights. The course further examines the ethical and legal responsibilities involved in termination and employee separation, with particular focus on compliance with California-specific laws governing final pay, severance, and wrongful termination claims.Privacy and security protocols are another critical component of the curriculum. Students will learn about the legal considerations of monitoring employee communications and protecting sensitive data, fostering an understanding of how to balance privacy rights with organizational security needs. The course concludes with a detailed look at the role of regulatory agencies, such as the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). Students will acquire the knowledge needed to respond to inquiries, manage audits, and ensure ongoing compliance with California's regulatory framework.By the end of the course, students will possess the knowledge and analytical skills necessary to understand and apply the principles of human resource management within the context of California law. Description
The Plated Traditions is a modest entity that was established 8 years ago. Since then, Plated traditions has been driven to encourage others to look at special meaning food has in their lives. Countries over, food has not just been about fuel. The food that we take in, our Plated Traditions, has been the focal point of our culture, heritage and even our pride. Recipe Journal Course is an instructional course that focuses on building culinary skills and insights, whilst encouraging the individual to align their "Plated Traditions" as the legacies that they are. The course has been formed not as much as a cooking tutorial of specific recipes, but rather as a tutorial of all recipes. We all bring a great deal to our tables and while an extra recipe here and there is not a problem for us, it's just not that one special recipe. There is great worth in making sure that the student understands the process as a whole so that they can apply their knowledge across the board no matter what is presented to them.To do this, the course draws on real-world instances and situations in order to identify with any student. Creating a chain reaction in the willingness to be a part of the Plated Traditions Recipe Journal journey.
